New Elizabethan

Lana Del Rey is one of many inspirations for new Elizabethan because she has the pale skin, strawberry blonde hair colour and she has her own sense of style.

She doesn't really listen to to negatives she pretty much always looks at the positives.

Like Elizabeth she could compose power well.

In some of her photo shoots she composes part of the Elizabethan era such as the hair pale make-up, and accessories.

Three Brush Challenge


This is a design i created of a golden tree with a blue sky and green hills in the autumn, i used the foundation brush to create the sky and hills, the angle brush for the tree and detail such as the little stick man and the small eye shadow brush for the leaves.

With the 3 brush challenge i used:

• Angle brush.
• Foundation brush.
• Small eye shadow brush.
• Kryolan supra color palette.

The Westmore family are a prominent family in hollywood make-up, the family were led by George Westmore, they have had four generations serve Hollywood as make-up artists, George have a establishment of Hollywood's first make-up department in 1917. 

George had three legendary and scandalous generations of movie make-up artists, starting with his six sons, Perc, Ern, Monte, Wally, Bud and Frank, they soon eclipsed him in Hollywood.

In 1926 Monte, Perc, Ern and Bud had become the cheif make-up artists at four major studios and all continued in new beauty and horror illusions until the end of their careers.

Elizabeth the golden age was written by, William Nicholson and Michael Hirst, Directed by, Shelkhar Kapur, Staring Cate Blanchett.

This film showed us a mature Elizabeth and  how loyal to the people of England she was, fighting along side her army against the Spanish armada, also when her sister tried to have her assassinated and turn't into her sister being beheaded, she also decided she was married to her country.

The film showed how disappointed and distraught  Elizabeth was knowing her own sister wanted her dead and to hear and see her being beheaded for attempt of assassination.

The film also showed a romantic disappointment as her best friend had slept with, married and conceived a child with her romantic interest.

It showed how Elizabeth in her mature age wore wigs and the many different ones she owned, she was also very envious of her best friend.

My favourite part of this film was when you saw her extremely upset at her sister execution she seem to be distraught at the fact her own sister was jealous enough to want her dead and that she was going to be executed.

(tech) Evaluation

Evaluation



For the first week of assessments i was the designer, 
i created a face chart with my final design on so 
she could see what my final idea looked like 
and i written some notes telling her what
 products and equipment to use and a step by step list to follow.

For the second week i was the make-up artist
 i had to create my partners look in 
1 hour 10 minutes i thought i did well, i managed to finish with plenty of time.

I thought i learnt her design quite quickly, 
my weak part was trying to get each side of the face equal,
i also felt i wasn't very good at applying the lip colour as I'm not too confident with applying lip colour, i could of improved on the shape of the heart.

Over all im really happy with the outcome.

The over all course i felt was a lot clear to understand than last year, I knew what needed to be done, I think ive kept up well with work, if I needed to know something I knew I could always ask a lecture or a fellow student, my group this year at first felt like it was difficult to mingle in but after a few week I felt welcomed in, I like how it was a small group again this year as being a small group you tend to work better with each other.

I thought my partner Amy done really well creating my design, she managed to do everything i wanted on my design  in the time given, i was worried she wasn't going to have time to apply the gems and pearls as there was quite a few to place but she managed to accomplish this well

I think i needed to be clearer on how i wanted my eyebrows as they weren't exactly how i wanted them and the eyelashes were a bit too big for my eyes.

Apart from that i thought the assessment went really well i felt that my partner was computable with what she was doing.

When we first applied the red around my face she adapted it by blending it in as it made me look like a telly tubby, im really grateful she did this as it made my design look a lot better.

During the assessment I felt she concentrated more when she wasn’t talking, this also helped her get it done with the time given.
